GEO and AEO services for UK businesses
GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) make sure AI search tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews can find your business, understand what you do, and cite or recommend you when someone asks a relevant question. We do it through research, technical fixes, structured data and content written to be quoted.
We can't promise a recommendation, and nobody honestly can. What we can do is find out where you stand today, fix what stops AI tools reading and trusting your site, and measure what changes.
GEO and AEO, briefly
GEO is about being named. When someone asks an AI tool which agency, product or service to choose, GEO is the work of making sure your business is one of the answers.
AEO is about being the answer. It structures your content so a tool can lift a clear, correct reply straight from your page.
Both sit on top of ordinary SEO, and we treat the three as one system. For the longer explanation, start with What is GEO?, What is AEO? or SEO vs GEO vs AEO.
What's included
- AI visibility research
- We test 15 to 20 real prompts (brand, category and comparison questions) in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, more than once over two to three weeks, and keep a dated record of what each one says.
- Industry and competitor mapping
- Who gets cited in your category, which pages they're cited from, and what those pages have in common. That includes directories, comparison sites and publications, because AI tools often draw on them rather than on the agencies themselves.
- Technical crawlability audit
- Whether AI crawlers can actually read your site: robots.txt rules for AI bots, content that only appears once JavaScript runs, sitemap health, and canonical and redirect consistency.
- Structured data
- Organization, Person, Service, FAQPage and Article schema, written to match what's on the page, so a model gets one consistent description of who you are and what you do.
- Entity clarity
- Making your business name, description and details match across your site, Google Business Profile and other listings. If another business shares your name, we make sure AI tools have enough to tell you apart. We ran into exactly that on our own site.
- Content built to be quoted
- Direct-answer openings, headings written as the questions people actually ask, and specific facts instead of generalities. Written and edited by people, not generated and templated.
- Monitoring and reporting
- Prompt tracking repeated through the engagement, plus Search Console and rank tracking for the Google side, reported in plain English.
How it works
Research
Weeks 1 to 3
Industry immersion and repeated prompt testing, so we know what AI tools say about your category before anything is changed.
Strategy
End of week 3
A written strategy document specific to your research, with fixes in priority order rather than a generic checklist.
Implementation
Ongoing
Technical fixes, structured data and content, built and shipped, not just recommended.
Monitoring
Ongoing
Tracking against the original baseline, with a deeper look at the competitive landscape each quarter.
The one-off research package covers steps 1 and 2, plus five articles written from the findings. The ongoing partnership covers steps 3 and 4.
What we measure
- - Whether your brand is mentioned, and where, across a fixed set of prompts
- - Which sources the AI tools cite, and whether yours is one of them
- - Which competitors appear instead, and from which pages
- - Whether searches for your own name return accurate information about you
- - Impressions, clicks, average position and keyword rankings on the Google side
AI answers vary between runs and between users, so we report patterns across repeated tests, never a single screenshot.
Who it's for
UK businesses whose customers research before they buy, in any industry: services, B2B, local and online. If your customers might ask an AI tool for a recommendation, or already do, this is worth looking at.
It's not a fit if you need a guaranteed ranking by next month, or if you want templated content produced at volume.
We run this on ourselves
Before offering this to anyone else, we published our own baseline. In September 2026 ChatGPT didn't know Worm Studio existed, and three unrelated businesses with similar names came up instead. We re-ran the same tests 30 days later: searches for our name now return correct information, and we're still not recommended for agency queries. We say so openly.
The full write-up is in Starting from zero. The work is led by Daniel Glazebrook, who has worked in SEO since 2012.
Cost
The one-off research and strategy package is £395 and takes two to three weeks. Ongoing work is £350 a month with a three-month minimum. The full breakdown is on the pricing page.
Questions about GEO and AEO
What is GEO?
GEO, or Generative Engine Optimisation, is the work of making your business easy for AI search tools to find, understand and recommend when someone asks them a question, such as which agency, product or service to choose. Read more about GEO
What is AEO?
AEO, or Answer Engine Optimisation, is structuring your content so AI tools and search engines can lift a clear, correct answer straight from your page. Where GEO aims to get your business recommended, AEO aims to get your content used as the answer. Read more about AEO
How are GEO and AEO different from SEO?
SEO aims to rank your pages in a list of results. GEO aims to get your business named in an AI-generated recommendation. AEO aims to get your content used as the direct answer. They share the same foundations, a technically sound site and clear, specific content, so we treat them as one system. Read the full comparison
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business?
No, and nobody honestly can. AI tools choose their own sources and their answers change between runs. We commit to the work described on this page, the research, fixes and reporting, and we report honestly on what moves, including when nothing does.
How long does GEO take to show results?
Technical fixes and accurate answers to searches for your own name can show up within weeks. Being recommended for broader questions, like which agency to hire in your category, usually takes months and depends on how crowded that category is. On our own site, searches for our name were returning correct information within 30 days, while category recommendations have not arrived yet.
Which AI tools do you track?
ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, plus other AI search tools where your customers are likely to be using them. Which ones matter most depends on your audience, so we check that first.
How much do your GEO and AEO services cost?
The one-off research and strategy package is £395 and takes two to three weeks. It includes a keyword audit and five articles written from the findings. Ongoing work is £350 a month with a three-month minimum. See the pricing breakdown
